The benefits of oil

Extra virgin olive oil is one of the stars of the Mediterranean diet, renowned around the world for its health benefits.
Oil is composed of 99% fats, but most of them are the fats known as “good”, i.e. monounsaturated fats, especially oleic acid..
The beneficial properties of oil are linked to the presence of many healthful elements, such as:

  • POLYPHENOLS AND VITAMIN E, which have antioxidant properties and reduce free radicals, protecting the body's cells from oxidative damage;
  • polyphenols and Vitamin E also have anti-inflammatory properties, as they inhibit the activation of inflammatory, proliferative and cell-toxic processes (cytotoxicity)
  • MONOUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS, which have beneficial effects on arterial pressure, because they improve the elasticity of blood vessels, preventing cardiovascular disease;
  • OMEGA 3 AND OMEGA 6, which promote an improved lipid metabolism reducing the amount of triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol in the blood and counteracting the accumulation of fat in the blood.
